India, Aug. 11 -- Recently, cases of a mysterious virus affecting livestock were detected in Scotland. Cases of the virus have previously been discovered in England but this is the first instance of a case in Scotland.

What is Bluetongue Virus?

Bluetongue Virus, also called BTV, is a viral disease that primarily affects domestic and livestock animals like sheep, cattle, goats, deer & alpacas. The disease is potentially deadly and generally causes severe illness among affected animals. Some vets have cited that the virus has led to a high mortality rate among sheeps.
