Sanitation worker's death sparks Delhi-wide protests
India, Aug. 23 -- A purported CCTV recording of the incident showed a man approaching Anil after a brief verbal exchange before allegedly attacking him with a knife.
An ordinary morning of work in Kalyanpuri turned deadly when 27-year-old sanitation worker Anil was allegedly stabbed while collecting garbage, leaving his colleagues angry and prompting sanitation workers from across Delhi to protest for justice, compensation and greater security. Anil, a contractual sanitation worker engaged by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi through a private company, was allegedly attacked at around 8.15 am while carrying out his routine work.
