India, Aug. 27 -- Samuel Monroe Jr., best known for his roles in Menace II Society, Tales from the Hood and The Players Club, has died at the age of 52. His death was announced by his mother, Joyce Patton, on Facebook on August 27, 2026, following months of serious health complications.

"I want to thank all of my Facebook family and friends, new and old, for praying for Samuel Monroe Jr., my son," Patton wrote. "But today God called him home."

She also asked supporters to continue praying for Monroe's family, particularly his three children.
