India, Aug. 14 -- Samantha Murphy Murder Case Latest Update: The long-running investigation into the disappearance of Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy has taken another turn after the man accused of murdering her was reportedly taken to hospital following an alleged suicide attempt in prison.

Patrick Orren Stevenson, 24, is being held at Melbourne Assessment Prison while he awaits trial. He has pleaded not guilty to murdering Murphy, who disappeared after leaving her Ballarat home for a morning run on February 4, 2024. Her body has never been found despite extensive police and community searches.
