India, May 24 -- Popular actor Rukmini Vasanth has reportedly been made into the latest victim in deepfake misuse, with AI generated explicit images of her now being passed around across social media platforms, apparently. The altered visuals, which in a short time racked up millions of views, showed her in green swimwear and were convincing enough that a lot of people assumed they were legit promotional stills, not some fake thing.

With the whole situation worrying and likely to hit her reputation and personal safety, the actor moved fast to speak up and to slow the circulation of that fabricated content.
