India, July 27 -- ITV will continue as the exclusive free-to-air broadcaster of the men's Rugby World Cup in the United Kingdom after securing the television rights for the 2027 tournament in Australia. The new agreement extends ITV's long-standing partnership with World Rugby, despite reported competition from the BBC, which held the broadcast rights for last year's Women's Rugby World Cup.
The broadcaster will air all 52 matches from the expanded competition live, marking its 10th consecutive Rugby World Cup coverage. The 2027 edition will feature 24 teams for the first time and introduce a round-of-16 knockout stage, making it the biggest men's Rugby World Cup in the tournament's history.
