India, May 16 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced financial incentives of Rs.30,000 for families on the birth of a third child and Rs.40,000 for a fourth child as a move to counter a falling birth rate in the state.
Speaking at a public meeting in Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district, Naidu said the decision had already been taken and detailed guidelines would be announced within a month. "We will provide Rs.30,000 immediately after the birth of a third child and Rs.40,000 for a fourth child," he said during the SwarnaAndhra-SwachAndhra programme, according to PTI.
