India, May 27 -- The tension that has been brewing inside the Indian film industry is now out in the open, raising a red flag signalling a deep split behind the scenes in a major action franchise. But before any external assistance from official bodies could help, do the damage control between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment.

A top industry summit was convened in Mumbai in early March with big names including Aamir Khan, Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala in an attempt to defuse the situation. It seems the meeting was tense and stuck at an impasse.

Ranveer's team is even said to have offered a large sum to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani as a gesture towards mending the relationship and saving the project from having to end.
