India, July 28 -- Following Paolo Maldini's resignation from the federation, Italian football is back to square one. Over the last few weeks, several big names, including Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and Andrea Pirlo, emerged as potential candidates to become the next head coach of the national team. However, all these deals have collapsed for different reasons. Now the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is reportedly considering bringing back former manager Roberto Mancini. Antonio Conte, who had previously coached Italy for two years, could also take over.
