India, Aug. 23 -- Rishabh Pant was forced to retire hurt on the opening day of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo after suffering an injury scare. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter was struck on his left wrist by a sharp delivery from Sri Lankan pacer Lahiru Kumara and immediately appeared to be in pain.

Pant received attention from the medical staff before leaving the field, raising concerns for India as the Test progressed. His early exit came after the blow left him visibly uncomfortable and unable to continue batting.
