India, Oct. 9 -- Some badminton rivalries never lose their charm, even after years without a meeting. PV Sindhu and Ratchanok Intanon are set to renew their rivalry at the Arctic Open 2026, with a place in the women's singles semi-finals at stake on Friday, October 9.

Sindhu, seeded sixth, booked her place in the last eight by defeating Japan's Riko Gunji 21-15, 21-15 in 49 minutes. The Indian raised her level at crucial moments in both games, pulling away when the contest became tight. Intanon, meanwhile, defeated India's young shuttler Tanvi Sharma 21-18, 21-7 to set up the quarter-final against Sindhu.
