India, Sept. 26 -- PV Sindhu begins her women's singles campaign at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday when she faces Chinese Taipei's Chiu Pin Chian in the Round of 32 in Aichi-Nagoya. The morning has not been kind for India as the star shuttler in men's singles Lakshya Sen ended his campaign with a loss to Loh Kean Yew.

The two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu received a bye in the opening round and will therefore enter the competition directly in the Round of 32. Chiu, meanwhile, has already played her opening match and defeated Malaysia's Letshanaa Karupathevan 21-13, 21-13. This will be the first meeting between Sindhu and Chiu.
