India, June 13 -- PV Sindhu exits Australian Open: In the Australian Open 2026 semi-finals in Sydney on Saturday, India's top shuttler PV Sindhu lost to current world champion Akane Yamaguchi, continuing her search for her first major win in the current 2026 season. In a 43-minute match in the BWF Super 500 competition, the world No. 10 lost to world No. 3 Yamaguchi 22-20, 21-12. Sindhu finished in the 2026 BWF World Tour semifinals for the second time. She had previously been to the final four of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 in January before losing to Wang Zhiyi of China.
