India, June 26 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday convened a high-level meeting of the country's Security Council, bringing together senior officials to discuss Russia's internal security situation and its relations with neighbouring countries. The meeting came as Moscow continues to face security challenges linked to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

It also followed Putin's recent statement that Russia remains prepared to restart peace negotiations with Ukraine based on the framework of the 2022 Istanbul agreements, although Kyiv has repeatedly rejected several of Moscow's key conditions.
