India, May 29 -- Punjab Municipal Election Results 2026 LIVE: Punjab began counting votes for the Municipal Elections 2026 on Friday morning as political parties closely watched results from 102 urban local bodies across the state.

The Punjab State Election Commission started counting at 8 AM under heavy security arrangements at multiple counting centres. The civic body elections have turned into a major political contest ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections next year.

The results are especially important for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is trying to strengthen its hold over urban Punjab and retain political momentum before the state heads for another major electoral battle.
