India, Sept. 23 -- Robert Pattinson is stepping into another unusual role with Primetime, an A24 crime thriller that takes audiences back to the world of early 2000s television and one of the most controversial shows of that era, To Catch a Predator.

Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film stars Pattinson as television journalist Chris Hansen, the host associated with the infamous NBC sting series. The story is set in 2006, when Hansen is looking to turn his predator catching format into an even bigger television event. A24 describes the film simply as a story about Hansen setting out to "make television history."
