India, Sept. 22 -- The Trump administration has formally rescinded long-standing economic sanctions on Belarusian potash production, fundamentally repositioning global fertiliser supply chains whilst creating substantial leverage in anticipated trade conflicts with Canada.

US envoy Coale announced the sanctions relief in December 2025, stating: "As directed by President Trump, the US is lifting sanctions on potash. I think this is a very good move on the part of the US for Belarus. We are lifting them now."
