India, Aug. 20 -- The PM-YASASVI scholarship scheme is a government initiative designed to support students from socially and economically disadvantaged communities in continuing their education. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has highlighted the scheme as a source of financial assistance for eligible students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT).

The programme is intended to ease the financial pressure associated with schooling and encourage meritorious students to continue their studies.
