PM, Ethiopian counterpart discuss defence, trade
India, Sept. 13 -- Leaders review trade, investment, defence and broader cooperation amid India's BRICS chairship.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit, with the two countries looking to further strengthen cooperation across trade, investment and defence. The meeting comes as India hosts the 18th BRICS Summit under its 2026 chairship on September 12 and 13. Ethiopia, which joined BRICS as a full member in January 2024 along with Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, is among the 11 members of the expanded grouping.
