India, June 12 -- Patrick Mahomes continues to rewrite NFL history, with the Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback set to stay with the franchise long-term after agreeing to a massive contract extension. The deal adds two more years to his current contract, making him the first player in league history to cross the $500 million mark in total earnings.

The two-time MVP has signed a new extension worth $239.05 million, which, combined with the remaining years on his earlier 10-year agreement signed in 2020, takes the overall value of his contract to around $504.5 million.
