India, Sept. 29 -- Indian boxer Parveen Hooda stormed into the women's 65kg final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after producing a dominant 5-0 semifinal win over China's Li Shu on Tuesday. Competing at Nishio Gymnasium, Parveen controlled the bout to become the first Indian boxer at the Games to secure a place in a gold-medal contest. The victory also guarantees her at least a silver medal, with the 26-year-old now one win away from claiming Asian Games gold.

Parveen's run also sees her go beyond her result from the previous edition in Hangzhou, where she initially won bronze. That medal was later withdrawn after the International Testing Agency (ITA) handed her a 22-month suspension over a whereabouts failure. Parveen will now look to...
