India, Aug. 30 -- Odisha is likely to witness intense monsoon activity over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in several parts of the state. The weather system is linked to a well-marked low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-north Odisha coast, which is expected to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.
