Odisha Weather Update: Heavy Rain Continues Across State; IMD Issues Red Alert for Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj - Check Forecast & Official Advisory
India, Aug. 30 -- Heavy rain lashed several parts of Odisha on Sunday, August 30, as a low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal and intensified into a well-marked system over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-north Odisha coast. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, warning of intense rainfall in these districts.
Heavy Rainfall Recorded in Several Areas
Several parts of Odisha recorded heavy rainfall on Saturday under the influence of the weather system. Rajghat in Balasore recorded 156.2 mm of rainfall, while Kusumi in Mayurbhanj received 133 mm. Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Balasore were among the districts that experienced heavy rain, ...
