India, Aug. 1 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was excluded from the speaker lineup at the funeral of Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad. The family of the fallen soldier reportedly requested that he not speak to avoid "political distractions" during the service.

The funeral for Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad, 28, was held on Friday at the Calvary Assembly of God church in Ozone Park, Queens.

Rampersad was one of three U.S. service members killed on July 17 during an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
