India, Sept. 30 -- Novak Djokovic will kickstart his long-awaited return to the China Open on Wednesday when the six-time champion takes on Portugal's Nuno Borges in the first round in Beijing. The Serbian has not played at the ATP 500 tournament since winning the title in 2015, but returns this year as the No. 6 seed.

Djokovic arrives in China looking to build momentum after his surprise first-round defeat to Mariano Navone at the US Open last month. The 39-year-old has also been managing fitness concerns, but said ahead of his Beijing return that he was feeling good and was encouraged by how his body had responded in practice.
