India, Sept. 7 -- Japanese equities extended their gains on Monday, with the Nikkei 225 climbing nearly 2% and moving above the 66,300 mark. The rally was driven largely by technology and artificial intelligence-linked stocks following a strong performance by US chipmakers in the previous session.

The broader Topix Index also moved higher, gaining around 0.8% to trade near 4,136.

Why Are Japanese Stocks Rising?

The latest gains were led by semiconductor and technology companies as investors responded positively to renewed strength in global chip stocks.
