India, June 22 -- While plenty of attention around the NHL has been on trades, Bobby McMann's situation went in a different direction. With questions building over whether he would stay in Seattle or test free agency on July 1, the Kraken shut that down by locking up the veteran winger on a new long-term deal.

Seattle announced on Sunday that McMann has signed a six-year extension worth $5.75 million per season. The deal keeps the 30-year-old with the Kraken and takes one more notable name off the potential free-agent board.
