India, Oct. 21 -- The New York Giants cut veteran running back Najee Harris on Tuesday morning following a bitter post-game confrontation.

The abrupt release came less than 48 hours after the former Pro Bowler publicly challenged head coach Brian Daboll's backfield touch distribution.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport confirmed the transaction as New York terminated Harris after just five appearances.

The swift dismissal proves Daboll has zero patience for vocal frustration as he hands complete backfield control to his emerging young rushers.
