India, March 27 -- Netflix raised its subscription prices in the United States on Thursday, with all tiers increasing by at least $1 a month as the streaming giant invests heavily in live events, video podcasts and original programming. The company's ad-supported plan now costs $8.99, up from $7.99; the standard plan is $19.99, up from $17.99; and the premium plan is $26.99, up from $24.99, according to the company.
The price hike comes as Netflix expects to spend $20 billion on content in 2026, up from $18 billion last year. The last time the company raised prices in the US was January 2025.
