India, March 29 -- Nepal's political crisis has deepened after police arrested former energy minister and Nepali Congress leader Deepak Khadka in a money laundering investigation. The arrest comes just a day after authorities detained former prime minister KP Sharma Oli and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak, linking them to alleged negligence during last year's violent Gen Z protests.
Officials from Nepal Police confirmed that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) detained Khadka early Sunday morning following a request from the Department of Money Laundering Investigation. Authorities launched the investigation after suspicious financial activity surfaced during probes related to the protests.
