NBA News: Mark Williams Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Suns Center Expected to Miss Several Months
India, Sept. 11 -- The Phoenix Suns are expected to be without starting center Mark Williams for several months after he underwent surgery Thursday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7, Williams could miss around five months, which would put his potential return sometime in February if his recovery stays on schedule. The injury occurred during an offseason workout.
The setback comes shortly after the 24-year-old secured a three-year, $38 million contract with Phoenix this summer after finally showing he could stay on the court for more than 50 games in a season.
