India, Aug. 10 -- It's International S;mores Day today! Celebrated on August 10 in the US every year, this fun occasion aims to celebrate the quintessial American dessert of s'mores which have been around since the 1920s.

Origin

Originally called "Some More" , this fun dessert traces its roots a century ago to the Girl Scouts, with troop leader Loretta Scott being credited for the first ever recipe. Even today, it is often associated with camping culture in the US.

While it's not a holiday, National S'mores Day is an occasion that's recognised by the National Confectioners Association.
