India, Oct. 9 -- The market was positive on Friday as traders looked at technology shares, corporate results, climbing oil prices and the prospects for Fed policy. The Nasdaq Composite was up by 0.6 percent in the early hours, whereas the S&P 500 moved up by 0.3 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 64 points, or 0.1 percent.

There were signs of improvement in the US stock market on Friday, but this trend was not consistent among different sectors. Tech stocks managed to pull back after falling sharply, whereas shares of Delta Airlines fell due to their underwhelming earnings results. Rising energy prices and high Treasury yields remained a concern for the equity markets.
