India, April 19 -- DNA evidence collected from the home of Nancy Gutherie has been sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for advanced examination, as the search for the missing 84-year-old continues. Reports indicate that the samples, including hair strands, were earlier tested by a private laboratory in Florida used by the Pima County Sheriff's Office. However, the results either failed to match records in CODIS, the FBI's national DNA database, or came back as "mixed," involving more than one individual.

What Happened?

Nancy Gutherie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1 after she did not attend a scheduled church service. When family members checked her home, they found she was not there.
