India, Sept. 9 -- Namibia and South Africa are set to make history today, September 9, 2026, when they meet in their first-ever bilateral men's ODI at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The opening match is part of a three-game series and holds added importance as both nations prepare to co-host the 2027 Men's ODI World Cup.

South Africa come into the contest after winning the T20I Tri-Series, but Namibia showed they can compete with the Proteas, securing an 18-run victory in one game before suffering an 11-run defeat in another closely fought encounter. The hosts are also returning to ODI action against a Full-Member nation for the first time since the 2003 World Cup, adding further significance to this landmark fixture.
