India, July 4 -- Mumbai and several neighbouring districts are likely to receive very heavy rainfall over the next few days after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad. A red alert has also been issued for Nashik, Pune and the Satara Ghat region. The weather department has warned that the intense monsoon activity is expected to continue till July 7, increasing the risk of flooding, waterlogging, overflowing rivers and travel disruptions.
