India, July 6 -- A three storey chawl collapsed in Mumbai's Mankhurd area on Sunday night amid heavy rain, killing six people and injuring one. Rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are continuing search operations as one person is still feared trapped under the debris. The incident happened around 8.30 pm at Chawl No. 5 in Janta Nagar, behind Hanuman Mandir in Mumbai's Mandala area. According to officials, two to three rooms of the three storey chawl suddenly collapsed, triggering a major rescue operation. Six people have died in the collapse.
