India, Sept. 28 -- The 2026 MTV VMAs had everything fans expect from the annual awards show - superstar performances, emotional tributes, unexpected reunions, awkward moments and a few major surprises. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the Sept. 27 ceremony in Los Angeles was dominated by two names: Taylor Swift and Madonna. Swift made history by becoming the most-awarded artist in MTV VMAs history, while Madonna took home seven trophies, including Artist of the Year.

Madonna opened the show with Sabrina Carpenter and Charli xcx. Swift premiered her new "Patient Zero" music video. Kacey Musgraves paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton, while Lisa made her live debut with "Sawadika." Then there were the moments nobody quite planned for, from Pat Smear...
