Missing Pilot David Douglas Found Dead In Submerged Aircraft After Four-Day Kawartha Lakes Search
India, Aug. 20 -- A 73-year-old pilot who vanished last Friday after taking off from an airport near Oshawa has been found dead inside his home-built aircraft, which searchers located submerged in a lake in Ontario's Kawartha Lakes region following four days of intensive search efforts, provincial police confirmed on Wednesday.
David Douglas failed to return to Oshawa Executive Airport as scheduled after departing at 8.30am on Friday in a privately registered Cassutt Racer, a single-engine experimental aircraft, prompting a large-scale search involving multiple agencies across air, land and water.
