India, Sept. 18 -- A Texas Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed Thursday afternoon in Grand Traverse County, Michigan, while taking part in a routine training mission. The aircraft belonged to the 149th Fighter Wing at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas and was operating in Michigan as part of training at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Centre.

The pilot managed to eject from the fighter jet before it crashed. Military officials said the pilot was taken to a nearby hospital, while local authorities later described the pilot as stable. The identity of the pilot and details of any injuries have not been released.
