India, May 19 -- The British reality TV show "Married at First Sight UK," advertised as a "courageous social experiment," is experiencing severe backlash following accusations by three female contestants that their on-screen partners sexually abused them on set. The accusations range from rape, forced sexual acts, to threats of committing acid attacks.

The matter received widespread coverage after a BBC Panorama program aired, where two women made accusations of having been raped while participating in the show. One of the women said that even though she had informed both Channel 4 and CPL Productions, the producers of the show, of her alleged ordeal, the footage was televised nonetheless.
