Manipur CM condemns deadly highway ambush
India, May 31 -- Truck driver killed as attack disrupts supply movement in state.
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has strongly condemned the deadly ambush on a goods convoy along National Highway-202, describing it as "one of the most cowardly acts" aimed at aggravating the tense situation and disrupting efforts to restore peace in the state.
The attack on May 29 killed a truck driver from West Bengal and injured a police constable, sending fresh shockwaves through Manipur's fragile security environment.
Singh expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the slain driver and blamed "vested interest groups" for attempting to derail the government's efforts to restore normalcy.
