Mamata's Rejinagar candidate in off-on mode
India, Sept. 20 -- Rabiul Alam Chowdhury announced around 9 am that he intended to withdraw his nomination. Later he said he was contesting.
A day after the Nandigram fiasco, West Bengal's bypoll drama shifted to Rejinagar on Saturday, where Mamata Banerjee's candidate briefly walked out of the contest and then walked straight back in, hours later, on her instruction.
Rabiul Alam Chowdhury, the Mamata All India Trinamool Congress nominee for the October 6 Rejinagar bypoll, announced around 9 am that he intended to withdraw his nomination, citing the party's ongoing symbol dispute and what he described as harassment of workers by the State administration.
