India, Aug. 21 -- Several parts of Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience intense rainfall over the coming days as an active monsoon phase combines with a low-pressure system over the northeastern part of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of very heavy showers in eastern districts, along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds. The spell could also create waterlogging and flooding concerns in areas that receive persistent rainfall.
