India, June 8 -- A 17-year-old girl is fighting for her life in a Gwalior hospital after surviving a barbaric, premeditated assault in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district that has left the entire nation in shock. The victim, who suffered over 60 injuries in the attack, was allegedly targeted by a 22-year-old stalker, Dharmendra Parihar, who invaded her home in Chandawali village.

The horrifying ordeal, which spanned from the girl's living room to the terrace, involved a savage axe assault, a chilling attempt to hang her with a rope, and finally, throwing her from a 12-foot-high rooftop.
