India, June 5 -- Drivers faced major disruption on the M61 after traffic was temporarily stopped in both directions due to animals being spotted on the motorway near Bolton. The incident led to long queues between Junction 6 at Horwich and Junction 8 at Chorley as traffic officers worked to clear the road and restore normal traffic flow.

National Highways confirmed that animals on the carriageway prompted the emergency response, with motorists experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes before restrictions were lifted.
