India, Aug. 21 -- A lorry fire broke out on the northbound carriageway between Junctions 18 and 19 of the M6 motorway near Greater Manchester this evening. The fire led to stoppage of vehicles on both sides of the motorway, causing congestion.

What Happened?

This afternoon, a major incident was reported on the M6, a 236 mile route which is considered to be England's longest motorway. A lorry between Junctions 18 and 19 caught fire, after which thick smoke engulfed the air and multiple lanes had to be shut. Firefighters are now on site and trying to control the blaze.
