India, July 8 -- The M1 is one of the most heavily used motorways in the United Kingdom, transporting hundreds of thousands of trips weekly from London to Leeds. The M1 motorway measures around 193.6 miles (311km) and runs through 10 counties connecting several big cities like Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield. Constructed in 1959 as the first-ever motorway in Britain, the M1 has been serving an integral part of British transportation ever since its inception. Heavy traffic, roadworks and accidents may soon hinder travel, thus requiring frequent traffic reports.
