India, July 30 -- Liverpool FC, who are preparing for the opening campaign under boss Andoni Iraola, are set to face Wrexham in a pre-season friendly. The Reds will miss several first-team stars, yet to return after World Cup duties with their respective national teams. Another issue is injury, though the squad will look different after the summer transfers. Liverpool have already signed a few new players, who will look to prove themselves, as Iraola keeps his eye on all individuals before setting up the starting unit.

As far as the friendly against Wrexham is concerned, most of the reserve players are expected to start. Youngsters will test their mettle, while the new signings could also have some minutes.
