India, Sept. 4 -- The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court held an emergency hearing Friday in the Lindsay Clancy case after her defense sought intervention over a deadlocked jury and the possibility of a mistrial. The hearing came as jurors again told the trial judge they could not reach a unanimous verdict after seven days of deliberations.
Clancy, 36, is accused of killing her three young children in 2023. Her defense has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should not be held criminally responsible. Prosecutors, however, have maintained that the killings were deliberate and that Clancy acted intentionally.
